Willow: A Novel, written by Wayland Drew, is the official novelization of the film film of the same name. Its first edition was published by Ballantine Books on January 12, 1988.
The novel tells the story of the movie, with which it remains faithfully consistent. However, the novel contains scenes that were originally written for the movie, but cut from the final version. Also, the novel contains backstories on several of the characters, which is not given in the film.
