Thraxus Boorman is a main character in the 2022 Disney+ television series, Willow. He is portrayed by Amar Chadha-Patel.

Character history[]

When he was younger, Boorman served as Madmartigan's squire during a five-year search for the legendary Kymerian Cuirass.[3] Several years after the defeat of the evil Queen Bavmorda, Queen Sorsha of Tir Asleen found a clue in the ancient scrolls as to the whereabouts of the Kymerian Cuirass. Thinking that it could be the key to defeating the Crone, Sorsha tasked her consort Madmartigan with finding it.[4]

Madmartigan, along with Boorman, Allagash, Blaylock and Mookie spent three years searching the world, finding vague clues and dead ends, all of which finally led them to the Dread Mines of Skellin and a hidden doorway deep within the mines that led to Wiggleheim's Tomb. While trying to enter the tomb the group was cornered by trolls.[5] The group fought them, and although Madmartigan was able to enter the tomb, Allagash and Boorman were captured by the trolls, while Ballock and Mookie died. Boorman managed to escape by hiding in a barrel of troll waste and making his way out through the sewers of the mine.[2]

After his escape from the mines, Boorman was convicted for various crimes and jailed at Tir Asleen Castle by Sorsha. Two hundred moons after the fall of Bavmorda, Sorsha had him released so he could help defend the castle from an attack by the Gales. When the Gales fled the premises, having kidnapped Prince Airk Tanthalos, an expedition was mounted to go beyond the Barrier and rescue him. Boorman agreed to join the party in exchange for a pardon.[1]

After Elora Danan was captured by Ballantine, Boorman and Kit take the Pitiless Pass in the Nockmaar Mountains to try to catch up to them and rescue Elora. Boorman had his own reasons for taking this path, so he could recover an artifact from its hiding place in the ruins of The Slaughtered Lamb, a Tavern and Inn located in the pass.[6]

Boorman helped in rescuing Elora from Ballantine and his men, and afterward sheltered in Nockmaar Castle, helping to keep Elora safe again from a possessed Graydon.[7] Leaving the castle, the group was pursued by The Scourge and The Dag, and the group was forced to enter the Wildwood where they were captured by Bone Reavers, and reunited with Boorman's former lover, Scorpia, who was also the leader of the reavers.[2]

Willow Ufgood and Kit were captured by trolls while in the Wildwood and taken to the Sleein mines as prisoners. There they met Allagash, who told Kit that Boorman had betrayed both of them and that Madmartigan went missing after entering a secret vault located in the prison mines. He convinced Kit to free him and both of them, along with Willow, escaped captivity and made their way to Wiggleheim’s tomb. Upon reaching the tomb, they came face-to-face with Boorman, Jade Claymore and Elora Danan. As expected, Allagash and Boorman fought, each calling the other a traitor. Kit broke up their fight and the group was able to enter the tomb and its treasure vault. Allagash and Boorman wrestled over the cuirass. Allagash won and disappeared with the cuirass and the Lux Arcana, disappointing the team. However, he returned when the trolls attacked them again and afterward informed the group that the cuirass wasn’t functional and did not protect him. He then gave the cuirass to Boorman.[5]

The group continues on, fighting whatever obstacles face them. Eventually, the group reaches a dead end at the end of the Shattered Sea. Boorman and the rest of the group want to turn around but Elora and Kit decide to jump. Boorman and the others realize they can't leave Elora and Kit so they jump too and end up in the Immemorial City. However, a sandstorm hits and Boorman is turned into stone. Eventually, Willow uses magic to turn him back. The Crone is defeated but the Wyrm is still alive and they realize a bigger war awaits.
