The Whispers of Nockmaar is the fourth episode in the Disney + television series, Willow. The episode aired on December 14, 2022.

Synopsis[]

A powerful storm leads the adventurers to seek refuge in the ruins of Nockmaar Castle, former throne of the wicked Queen Bavmorda. They must face their demons as one of their group becomes possessed by evil.

Plot Summary[]

The group needs to find shelter so they decide to go to Nockmaar, which is the former throne of Queen Bavmorda, against Willow’s advice. Graydon is getting worse every minute. The dark magic is starting to infect him so the group puts him in chains to control him. Graydon insists they should kill him if he completely loses his mind. Kit agrees but some of the others don’t agree that’s the right thing to do. They ask Willow for advice and he tells them he might know a way to cure Graydon.

They find a spell book, called the Malatrium, to find a spell to cure Graydon. Willow asks Elora for her help. They need to find certain ingredients to make a salve to perform the spell. Boorman and Jade go to keep a watch out for The Gales while the others work on the spell.

Willow cuts Graydon’s shirt open so that he can apply the salve but he sees that Graydon is covered in scars. Graydon explains that he was sick when he was young and this is the reason for the scarring. Willow starts to perform the spell ritual and Graydon struggles in pain. Meanwhile, while keeping watch, Boorman sees a huge door and tries to pick the lock. He can’t open the door but he continues to try to find a way to open the vault door. He talks to Kit, who insists that killing Graydon is the better way. Boorman tells her she is acting like her grandmother.

Elora and Graydon chant incantations for the spell. Graydon has a hallucination of his father getting mad at him when he was younger.

Kit gets an ingredient Willow needs and goes to bring it to him but gets distracted by whispering voices. She notices a tapestry. The tapestry shows Bavmorda being corrupted by The Crone.

Boorman comforts an upset Jade, who is still getting over having to kill Ballantine. They hug and Jade cries in his arms.

During the spell, Graydon starts speaking in Airk’s voice. Willow warns the others this is a distraction created by The Lich and to ignore it. Graydon, with The Lich inside him, tells Willow he knows that he is keeping a secret. Willow tells Elora to focus when she asks him about this.

The group starts to slowly lose their minds as they start imagining things that aren’t really there. Kit gets lost in the castle. Boorman thinks the Lux Arcana was stolen from him. Jade sees her dead parents and the person who killed them. Elora sees how her mother died.

Meanwhile, Graydon shows the group he is successfully cured from the spell. He tells them that Willow is hurting now and they have to save him. The group try to find Willow and think he’s in the High Tower, even though Willow specifically told them not to go there earlier. They go there looking for him, but it was a trick. Graydon is not really cured - he’s still possessed by The Lich. He tries to banish Elora’s soul but Willow shows up in time to stop Graydon. Willow tells The Lich that he will defeat him because he has friends to help him, just like before. Kit, Boorman, and Jade come in and tackle Graydon. Elora then, with the confidence from growing the plant before, uses her magic to suck the dark magic out of him. Graydon thanks Elora for saving him from The Lich.

The group gets out of Nockmaar. Kit asks Willow to tell her more about the Blood of the Six, which he does. He also says now that Elora’s magic is improving, they can have some hope to defeat the dark forces. Boorman finds his Lux Arcana again, realizing it was with him all along.

Airk wakes up in his cell. He sees that the door to the cell is open so he leaves it and sees that he is in the middle of empty ancient ruins. He ventures out to find out where he is.
