The Return of Three was a long verse saga written by the poet Olvarmere of Tir Asleen. I told the story of a king's three children—twin brothers and an older sister—who joined the army under aliases to protect their homeland. After devastating battles, the three found themselves separated in three foreign lands. Consequently, they all undertook a dangerous journey home, facing a variety of bandits, monsters, and petty monarchs. While the sister and one brother managed to reach home alive, the remaining brother betrayed his homeland and became a villain. At the head of a 'devil army' made of trolls, the wayward brother attacked Tir Asleen, but the guilt prevented him from winning that fight. He made a number of (possibly intentional) mistakes that allowed his siblings to get the upper hand and, as he fell in front of his own troops, proclaimed his repentance.[1]
