Synopsis[]
The heroes are hunted by dark disciples.
Plot Summary[]
Boorman tells Kit about Thuul, the rightful king of Kumeria. He explains how Thuul left the city gates to find his brother and 2000 death dealers. Kit cuts him off because she’s bored. Kit and the others soon realize that Elora is gone. They look around and can’t find her. Kit sees the plant that she grew and realizes she must really be the Elora Danon. The group assumes she’s taken so they look for her.
Jade walks up and sees Ballantine. She asks him what he’s doing as she sees Elora tied up on a horse behind him. He explains he’s just following the queen’s orders and taking her back to Tir Asleen but Jade seems suspicious -Ballantine isn’t acting like his normal self. She asks him if anything is wrong and Ballantine lies to her pretending he is his normal self, but the monster within comes out and he challenges her to fight. Willow arrives and tries to stop Ballantine. He uses his magic but Ballantine gets away, with Elora.
The group stand together and watch a storm coming. They hear The Crone in the wind. They decide what to do but Willow says the storm will separate them. He explains that The Crone likely won’t kill Elora because her spirit could be reborn - rather he will banish her so her spirit is imprisoned forever. However, banishing her isn’t an easy task.
Elora manages to escape Ballantine by cutting herself loose and running into the woods. She comes across two women next to a hut. They identify themselves as Hubert and Anne and tease her initially when she says men are coming for her. Elora tries to warn them the men are dangerous but Hubert and Anne don’t seem particularly alarmed. They tell her to explain her story and she says she’s Elora Danon. Hubert asks to see her mark and she shows them. They declare their allegiance to Elora and vow to protect her in the woods.
Ballantine shows up and Hubert stands up to him. They fight but Ballantine stabs Hubert, killing her. Anne runs through the woods but Ballantine’s men chase and kill her. Ballantine takes Elora and tells her their deaths are her fault.
Kit and Boorman walk off through a graveyard and ruined inn. She has more questions about the Cuirass. They walk down into a tunneled cave, looking for answers. Boorman jumps down a well and asks Kit to pull him up when he tells her too.
Elora stands up to Ballantine. She touches one of his men’s faces and it burns. She tells them she’s the greatest sorceress to ever live and that she will use her magic to fight them off. However, she is bluffing- the only spell she knows is the one to grow the plant. Just in time, Willow and the rest of the group show up.
They have a face off with Ballantine and his men. Jade fights Ballantine herself after offering to help him. The group fight and end up in the graveyard, where Kit and Boorman are. They join the fight.
Silas gets stabbed and dies. He tells Willow he died protecting his best friend. Willow sobs and apologizes to Silas. Ballantine gets hurt and is dying. As he dies his mind returns to his normal self- he tells Jade what she needs to do to win. He tells Jade he’s proud of her and that raising her was the best thing he ever did. Jade sobs and ends Ballantine’s life, at his request to release himself.
The group walks on, now with Elora. Willow explains she still has a long way to go. Graydon got hurt in the fight and might be turned into a slave of The Crone. He tells the group, “Bad magic”. Willow tells the group he knows where they are- Nockmaar.
