Stage magic was the art of using skillful illusory tricks and deceptions to entertain other people. As such, it was a simulation of the real magic, which channeled the powers of the Great Mystery to influence reality.[1] Pesto the Magnificent, the man who inspired Willow Ufgood to become a magician, was one such entertainer.[2] In fact, genuine sorcerers often began as mere stage magicians, performing illusory acts for their friends. Those mere tricksters who aspired to rise above these things could learn the ways of the Great Mystery, although very few achieved this end.[1]
