The Kymerian Cuirass was a legendary magical breastplate.[1]

Description[]

A cuirass of pure Khromium, activated by a magical key.

History[]

Ten thousand years ago, Annabel was the Queen of Kymeria and mother of Thuul and Tiberius. She was also a fay of the Grove and forged for her son, Thuul, an enchanted cuirass as well as the Lux Arcana, a magical key that activated the armor so it would only serve those who were worthy of its awesome power.[2]

Several years after the defeat of the evil Queen Bavmorda, Queen Sorsha of Tir Asleen found a clue in the ancient scrolls as to the whereabouts of the Kymerian Cuirass. Thinking that it could be the key to defeating the Crone, Sorsha tasked her consort Madmartigan with finding it.[3]

Madmartigan, along with Allagash, Thraxus Boorman, Blaylock and Mookie spent three years searching the world, finding vague clues and dead ends, all of which finally led them to the Dread Mines of Skellin and a hidden doorway deep within the mines that led to Wiggleheim's Tomb. While trying to enter the tomb the group was cornered by trolls. Allagash fought them off so Madmartigan could go in. The trolls were only interested in the legendary Madmartigan, so when they caught Allagash, he gave them Madmartigan’s name instead of his own so they'd stop looking for Madmartigan.[4]

Allagash and Boorman were captured by the trolls, while Ballock and Mookie died. Boorman managed to escape[5] while Allagash spent 10 years in a crows cage in the mines.

When Willow Ufgood and Kit Tanthalos were captured by trolls while in the Wildwood, they were taken to the mines as prisoners and met Allagash. Allagash told Kit that Boorman had betrayed both of them and that Madmartigan went missing after entering a secret vault located in the prison mines. He convinced Kit to free him and both of them, along with Willow, escaped captivity and made their way to Wiggleheim’s tomb. Upon reaching the tomb, they came face-to-face with Boorman, Jade Claymore and Elora Danan. As expected, Allagash and Boorman fought, each calling the other a traitor. Kit broke up their fight and the group was able to enter the tomb and its treasure vault. Allagash and Boorman wrestled over the cuirass. Allagash won and disappeared with the cuirass and the Lux Arcana, disappointing the team. However, he returned when the trolls attacked them again and afterward informed the group that the cuirass wasn’t functional and did not protect him and gave the cuirass to Boorman.[4]

Boorman tried unsuccessfully to activate the cuirass.[6] Realizing that he was not worthy, he gave it to Kit. While Kit was wearing the cuirass, Jade placed the Lux Arcana into its chest plate, activating it and causing it to magically expand into full battle armor, including an extendable sword blade in the left vambrace of the armor. At the end of the battle, Jade was seen appreciatively checking out Kit's armored physique that the armor noticeably accentuates; the latter notices Jade's ogling eyes and, aware that she's being flirted with, entertains Jade by claiming she will remove the cuirass at some point. As soon as Kit figures out exactly how.[7]
