The mother of Elora Danan is only briefly seen in the film. She is imprisoned by Bavmorda and her baby is taken from her when the mark of the prophecy is found on her arm. Bavmorda intends to have her spirit banished to the nether world, but the nursemaid Ethna, at the insistent pleas of her, sneaks away with the child in order to save her life. Because of this Bavmorda has her killed while she also sends her Death Dogs in pursuit who kill Ethna just after she manages to build a make-shift raft sending Elora downstream where she is later rescued in the Nelwyn village.
200 moons after the battle of Nockmaar the now adult Elora Danan is guided by visions into the old abandoned castle. These visions lead her to the cell where her mother gave birth to her. There she sees, with horror, the last moments of her mother being killed by a soldier of Bavmorda after the queen has left the cell.

In the 1988 movie Willow, the mother of Elora Danan was played by Sallyanne Law. In the movie credits, she was only listed as "Mother," and neither the film itself or the novelization gave her a proper name.
