The Dust of Broken Heart was one type of fairy dust, which caused its target to fall passionately in love with the first creature they laid their eyes on.[1] The Brownie Franjean obtained some from the fairies, which he kept in a container attached to a necklace. At one point during their travels with Willow Ufgood, at a tavern near Tir Asleen, Rool tried to take some from Franjean to use on a woman, but in the struggle, he spilled the powder on himself and inadvertently fell in love with a cat. Later, Franjean struck Madmartigan on the nose with the container so that he would stop touching his spear. This caused Madmartigan to fall in love with Sorsha, temporarily distracting him from rescuing Elora Danan.[2]
