Children of the Wyrm is the eighth and final episode of the first season of the Disney + television series, Willow. The episode aired on January 11, 2023.
Synopsis[]
The Immemorial City awaits. Refuge of the Wicked Crone and her dark designs.
Plot Summary[]
Airk happily greets his sister and Elora. He tells them to come meet The Crone because she is a lot better than they think. However, Airk is brainwashed from drinking the liquid from the pond. Elora and Kit realize what’s going on.
The rest of the group decide they can’t leave Kit and Elora and follow them down the waterfall. A sandstorm hits and Boorman turns into stone.
Kit and Elora bravely decide to go to The Crone by entering a portal. Kit sees her mother who admits she should have given Kit more freedom. Airk tries to tempt Elora to drink a goblet of the water he was drinking before. Kit hears Madmartigan’s voice tell her that leaving her was the hardest thing he’s even done- he only gave her up because he had to follow what he believed in. He tells her this is the only way to save Elora- Kit must be her shield. Kit realizes Elora is gone. The Crone tells her the Great Awakening has begun and Kit turns into stone.
Elora and Airk are about to get married. The Crone assures Elora that their marriage and having a sacred kiss will save everything and everyone. Elora hesitates because she realizes her feelings for Airk have changed.
Willow arrives and uses his magic to shatter the vision and save everyone. He turns Kit and Boorman back from stone. A fight ensues between Willow and the others and The Crone and her minions. The Crone throws Graydon into another world, seemingly killing him. Kit struggles to convince Airk to turn back into his old self. It doesn’t work and so they fight. Elora faces off with The Crone, using her magic to eventually destroy The Crone. The Crone turns back into her previous form. Airk kisses her and the power transfers over.
Kit fights with Airk but eventually using her words she gets through to him and he becomes his normal self.
The fight ends but the group realize the Wyrm is still alive and the bigger fight still awaits them. Meanwhile, Graydon is alive after all. He wakes up on a battlefield and sees Elora. She tells him she needs him to help her lead the world into the light.
