According to the creation myths of the Nelwyns, Carbolomir the Mad was a Daikini sorcerer who created the trolls while attempting to give apes a more human-like intelligence. The myths say that, while casting his spells upon the apes, Carbolomir was distracted by a passing butterfly, which caused his magic to go awry, giving birth to a race of savage beasts. It was also said that Carbolomir was killed by the very trolls he had created.[1]
