"I found some blackroot. She loves it."
"Blackroot? I'm the father of two children, and you never, ever give a baby blackroot."
Madmartigan and Willow Ufgood, in Willow

Willow Ufgood and Madmartigan argue about whether one should feed blackroot to a baby.

Blackroot was a plant that could be found on the Western continent of Andowyne. On one occasion, Madmartigan attempted to feed Elora Danan a tuber of blackroot that the brownies Rool and Franjean had found.[1] Upon finding that out, Willow Ufgood became upset, and he insisted that babies should not eat blackroot. Madmartigan disagreed, claiming that his mother raised her children on blackroot. He also attributed his hairy chest to the consumption of blackroot.[2]

Behind the scenesEdit

The blackroots appearing in the film were in fact raw vanilla fruits.[3]
